Life is a cabaret…

…or a carnival? Either way it’s tonnes of fun at Gigi and Lulu. I was asked recently to help create party themes for a gorgeous party company located in Dubai called Me & Riley. The gorgeous creator Emma Riedel asked me to develop a unique design for a vintage carnival party. One for boys and one for girls. She recently hosted a party for a little girl called Mira and the results look gorgeous! I hope to show you more party packs designed especially for Me & Riley soon and I also hope to announce Me & Riley’s imminent arrival into the Australian party market. All very exciting.

Injecting life into Pharmaceuticals

I love receiving a project that allows me to step outside the norm of an industry. Let’s face it, pharmaceuticals isn’t the most glamorous industry but lovely Jo Atkins is shaking things up a little with her new consultancy business, Jam Solutions. The look is still professional without being typically ‘corporate’. No more boring images of pills and doctors. Jam Solutions is about fresh thinking and creative ideas. I recently created a logo, splash page and brochure to compliment Jo’s vision. Thanks Jo!

The sweetest decor

I am in decorating mode at the moment. All I want to do is shop for homewares for my new house but unfortunately, the house is only up to framing stage (it’s being built) and I have absolutely no storage in my current house to stockpile homewares – Boo! So my list of hearts desires is ever growing. On that list is a couple of items from Little Big Designs. Amazing homewares all hand made and hand painted for gorgeous boys and lovely girls. I designed a postcard and sticker for Belinda and hope to see some of her items in the next Shop 4 Kids magazine. Fingers crossed!

Doing a little happy dance

I’m doing a little happy dance today. Recently I designed a new newsletter on the Mad Mimi platform for Ali at Sugar & Spice Market. Well, today I got word that the CEO of Mad Mimi thinks that it is ‘the most beautiful email I’ve ever seen!’. And, he sees a lot (65,000 businesses use Mad Mimi). What a compliment! As you can imagine Ali and I are so, so happy. You can see the full newsletter here and a write up on the Mad Mimi blog here.

Just completed a lovely little project in conjunction with Jenny at The Letterbug for Marrianne at Bolly & Bear. A sweet little press release for a sweet, sweet lady. We had her jumping for joy – yipee! The perfect response.

Cake making is fast becoming an amazing artform. The things people can create never cease to amaze me. Patricia from Yummy Cupcakes & Cakes is one of those artists. I had the pleasure of designing a new logo for her recently (see past post) along with a lovely little ad for Polka Dot Bride. There is a website in the works and other bits and bobs to reveal in time.
It’s projects like these that make me wish I liked cake.

The girls at Belly Art are always developing great new products and have come up with a gorgeous keepsake for babies. I had the pleasure of designing their new Birth Certificate Kit. A gorgeous Birth Certificate plus all the elements you need to take an Inkless Print of baby’s hands and/or feet. Wipe, press, print on the certificate and you’re done. Looks great in a frame. Where was this when my kids were babies? I remember the ink and the mess…argh!

Kids Pantry is coming soon to Canberra! A gorgeous cooking and kitchen garden venue offering party and school holiday programs for children aged between three and 15 years. It’s all about discovering the beauty of fresh, seasonal produce and the joy of getting your hands dirty. Lucky for me, Amanda, Kersten and Theresa selected Gigi & Lulu to design their logo. (Shhh, don’t tell them that I am a hopeless cook).
