A big thank you for a Little Bird!

November 16th, 2009

I recently had the need for a bio shot and the best photo I had of myself was four years old.  Let’s just say I have aged in those years and felt like a fraud using it.  So I got together with Pru from Little Bird Photography for a really fun shoot.  I loved thinking of what would best represent what I do and came up with an ‘idea’ – Thoughts, dreams and love.  I thought finding a blue wall would be my biggest challenge but as it turned out, that was easy!  It was shooting in the rain with a three year old in tow that turned out to be the hardest part.

A BIG thank you to Pru.  She is simply wonderful and created photos that go far beyond what I had imagined.

Now, anyone need a bio shot of me? (he he he)

Little Miss Mimi’s Carnival of Fun!

October 13th, 2009

I recently hosted a third birthday party for my baby girl.  She turned three.  We decided to throw her a carnival themed party filled with ‘build your own’ showbags, carnival games, pinwheels, popcorn and prizes.  The theme was loosely based on an aqua and red colour palette with a touch of yellow.  We mixed solid colours with stripes and spots to complete the carnival look.

It was our favourite princess…

September 1st, 2009

Everyone keeps asking me ‘who did Pru’s make up?’ in the Little Bird shoot and I can’t believe I forgot to mention, and thank, the ever-gorgeous Vanessa from Princess Cherry Pie. She did a wonderful job re-creating that fifties glam. Pru looked amazing and the make up was perfect! I was sooo jealous of those lashes. Gee they make a difference.

Thank you Vanessa! You’re brilliant!

Mama bird’s turn

August 31st, 2009

I know I say this almost every time I post but…I LOVE MY JOB!

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of styling a shoot for Mama Bird (Pru Trundle) of Little Bird Photography. It was so much fun! Hula hoops, a cardboard sun, pink flamingos, balloons, flowers, a gorgeous retro bike (courtesy of my beautiful friend Kelly at Little Bubble and Tree) and even a treehouse.

The bad weather held off just long enough for the lovely Angie Baxter to take the perfect shots.

Now the question is, when is it my turn?

Paperklip Design in My Child mag

August 20th, 2009

Just picked up my copy of My Child magazine and was so happy to see shots that I helped style for Mel at Paperklip. And boy was it hard! You take for granted how much effort is involved in product shots like this. Getting the paper to sit just right took a VERY long time.

Once again, I had the pleasure of working with Pru from Little Bird Photography (who shot the cover and the cowboy spread – genius!) and also got to work with the ever lovely Nic McIsaac from Magnolia Square.

We love Paperklip in My Child!

Qtee’s Designs styling

May 26th, 2009

Last week I had the pleasure once again of styling a photo shoot. This time for Tarnya at Qtee’s Designs. And what a pleasure! Beautiful clothes, gorgeous location, fun kids and two REALLY, REALLY BIG balloons. (I’m happy to say that no one let go of the balloons and although the yellow one did pop, it was right at the end of the shoot – phew!).

Again, great shots from Pru at Little Bird Photography. Always fun!

Ribbonista photo styling

May 12th, 2009

I love styling. I think it is the chance to arrange and decorate that I enjoy. I get it from my mum. She is constantly moving things around her house (to my dads dismay). Last week I got a great opportunity to work with the lovey Leigh from Ribbonista. Oh, what gorgeous hairclips and hairbands. All made by Leigh’s little hands! I am amazed at how lovingly they are designed and created. Very, very impressive.

I had the joy of working with Pru at Little Bird again. We’re starting to be known as ‘Pru and Prue’ (say it with the Kath and Kim twang). Embarrassing but somewhat fitting…hmmm

Here are some pics.

Alannah Rose Stationery styling

March 15th, 2009

Oooh, the most fun you could imagine (and deceptively exhausting!). I got a wonderful opportunity to style a photo shoot for Suzi at Alannah Rose Stationery. She has just released a stunning range of boxed party invitations for children. We had such a great fun time. I love designing parties and themes when my kids birthdays come around so being able to set up a circus party and a girly bird party in one day was a dream.

The photos were shot by none other than the amazing Pru at Little Bird Photography and I have to say a huge thank you to everyone who supplied us with wonderful outfits, accessories, food, balloons etc…in particular Kelly at Little Bubble and Tree. Check out Harry’s gorgeous outfit – It was perfect! Thanks Kelly!

Did I mention that I love my job?
