Everyday is a splendid day

July 30th, 2010

I love Splendid Days.  We recently put together a brochure of sorts.  A little package of beautiful postcards tied with ribbon – awww!  They were sent to the media recently and received some glowing reviews.

Also here you’ll see a brand new business card.  What joy these girls bring and I think it is reflected beautifully in everything they do.

Ava’s Tea Party

July 26th, 2010

Every now and then something special appears in my inbox.  Last week it was a little idea by Siobhan and Vanessa at Details, Details!

It began with the story of Ava Rosemeyer.  A little girl who tragically passed away at the age of three.  Just like most little girls Ava loved tea parties.  So every August a tea party is held in her honour.  Given that Siobhan and Vanessa love a party, they developed the idea of The Beauty Full Collection.  Limited edition printable tea party invitations by nine Australian designers.  ‘An invitation from the Beauty Full collection provides an opportunity to bring people together and celebrate life.’

I was honoured to be part of the project.  I also had the great pleasure to design the logo and accompanying material for The Beauty Full Collection.

To hear more about Ava’s story, visit Ava’s mum Sheye Rosemeyer’s blog.

For details of how you can purchase these special little invitations, visit Details, Details!

Now, get off the computer and go make a memory with your loved ones.

Spot the new Polka Dot

July 22nd, 2010

Ooh, what a fun project this has been.  For a while now Ms Polka and I have been developing a brand new look and a brand new blog for Polka Dot Bride.  The biggest and best wedding blog in Australia.  Our aim was to revolutionise blogging and give the reader a true interactive experience (you can now post your own wedding, interact with vendors and ask important questions like “Where should I put my lipstick on the day?”).  A huge thanks to Matt from Webnovation for his timely development of the site.  He worked very hard on this project and the result is just as we imagined.  And a big thanks to Ms Polka for asking me to be part of her latest journey.  It was too much fun!

Buttons and trims…

July 15th, 2010

I love designing for nice people.  So I am lucky that all my clients are nice, including Greg from Premier Centre.  What a lovely man.  He is in the fashion business selling all kinds of gorgeous trims, buttons, accessories and fun things to fashion designers around the country.  I gave his business a fresh new look…

Little Press Release

July 9th, 2010

I heart Little Elk.  Mimi wears her gumboots everyday.  I don’t really know what she looks like without them on her feet.  Not too long ago I had the pleasure of popping a little press release together for Sally.  With the help of Jen from The Letterbug, we have whispers that Little Elk shall soon be appearing in a few magazines – Yipee!  Look out for it.  I also designed a sticker for teh inside of every pair of boots.  Who said that a compulsory info sticker had to be boring?

I also hear whipsers that fab new products will be coming to Little Elk.  I’ll keep you posted.

Simply splendid

July 5th, 2010

I love seeing all the pieces of a new business come together.  And so, I have great joy in showing off some work I have done for Grainne and Tania at Splendid Days over the past few months.  For starters I was lucky enough to be the Photographic Assistant and Assistant Stylist on their gorgeous photo shoot with Pru from Little Bird.

Lots of images from our shoot can now be seen at the new Splendid Days website

There are a few other pieces I will share in the coming days.  First I need to figure out what I can celebrate that will require a marquee…

Open and shut!

July 3rd, 2010

Every now and then I get asked to work on a project that gets me thinking.  Tastar Auto Doors was one of those.  We totally take for granted that the automatic doors we walk through every day need installing and maintaining and it takes professionals like Craig and Sharon to do that.  I loved this project as I had to think of ways to convey the everyday automatic door simply.  Here’s what we came up with …(See a T for Tastar and a depiction of the top of two doors coming together).

Tastar Auto Doors is the first and only auto door business to be based in Tasmania.  So if you have a door in Tassy, you probably need Tastar.

Ohh la la!

June 29th, 2010

Oh how I love to design for The Cupcake Wrapper Co. Not just because Kath and Nat have lovely ideas, great passion and a warm sense of fun but because the end result is always so irresistibly sweet.  Their new Paris wrappers are no exception!  Oh La La indeed!

Now, how to work them into my next party…
